The Techie

The Techie

The Techie. Everybody knows a Techie, that person you call when your phone is acting up or your computer freaks out. This list is for the Techies in your life, full of all the things they made need or want.

Tile Mate

Tile Mate - Tile - $25

If your techie doesn't already have a Tile then this is the perfect gift. Tile is a company that makes small trackers for finding you lost goods. I have multiple and they are crazy useful. Not only do they allow you to track the tiles with your phone but they also have a button you can press on them to ping your phone which is a super nice feature I personally take full advantage of. Any techie is crazy to go without a few tiles.

Cord Tacos 4 Pack - This Is Ground - $25

I have been using Cord Tacos for awhile now and I don't know how I made it without the. I use them for all of my cables and feel so organized because of it. When your bag doesn't have cables strung throughout, in the way of everything else it just makes life easier. Make your techie's life easier, buy them some cord tacos.

Wooly Dumplings - Byrd and Belle - $26-46

If you've read any of my other gift guides you may have come to realize I am a huge fan of small pouches and organizational goods. We have all of these small gadgets, cables, and adapters and they need homes. Our stuff needs a place to go instead of floating around and becoming clutter. Little pouches like these dumplings are the cure to the common clutter. Plus they come in all these great sizes and colors. You can't go wrong.

Pouches - Peg and Awl - $28-63

So wool not your thing? How about these rugged waxed canvas pouches from Peg and Awl? I have a pouch of theirs I bought on a whim and it has become one of my absolute favorites. The pouch just gets better with age and it's holding up so well. I don't worry about it getting scuffed or anything either because it already has this great roughness that to me only gets better with heavy use.

Eclipse Charger - Native Union - $56

This Eclipse Charger is the latest from Native Union, a company that I really love. They are making quality chargers, cables and docks that just look great and help you break away from the usually boring white or black. The Eclipse charger however is much more than that. This charger, has room for up to 20 feet of cable and three separate cables which you can use to charge your various devices. With a couple taps on the top the center of the charger lifts up to reveal your cables for use, as well as turns on a glowing halo around the base to light your way if you're in the dark. Native Union has really thought this product through and I'm really excited to see what else they come up with in the future.

Exto Carrara Black - Conway Electric - $70

Ok, this seems so simple I know but I just love it. Extension cords are just so ugly, but this is like the classiest extension cord box thing I've ever seen. If you have an outlet behind a piece of furniture or something and want to bring it into the open with some style this is the way to go. I honestly could see myself using it just for looks at times even if my devices could reach without it. They come in many different color combos but I always stick with the black and matte if available. Techie's always need power outlets, its a fact. Give the people what they need.

Wireless Charging Pad - Grovemade - $80

If  your techie is lucky enough to have either one of the new iPhone 8 models or the new iPhone X then they need a nice new wireless charger since Apple still doesn't have one available. This gorgeous charging pad it made with cork and and steel. My current iPhone dock is a grove made product and is one of the most quality products I own. Grovemade really does things right so I'm sure this charging pad lives up to their high standards. Maybe your techie doesn't have one of the new iPhones but an android phone with Qi charging, this is still compatible and a great gift for someone lucky enough to need it.

Computer Glasses - Felix Grey - $95

Glasses? Yes, glasses. I recently purchased a pair of Felix Grey glasses and I'm loving them. They look great and are great quality frames and lenses. But why for the Techie? No, I'm not stereotyping nerds with glasses. Felix Grey specializes in Blue Light filtering lenses, blue light that comes from the screens we use all day everyday. a quote from their website states, "Studies show that blue light may be linked to eye strain, macular cellular damage, and sleep cycle disruption." I have definitely noticed my eyes feeling much less strain after long days in front of my computer and that coupled with the fact that I like the way they look is more than enough for me to be a fan. Gift your techie's eyes a rest with some Felix Greys.

La Metric Time - La Metric - $200

What is this? This is La Metric Time, still confused? I was too. It's a connected display that can do many different things depending on what you want it to do. Show games scores, a notification when you get an email, a stop watch, a timer, and even just a clock if your boring like that. It's not for everyone but a techie can see something like this and start working up a ton of different uses. La Metric works with IFTTT(if this then that) an app that automates tasks, which opens up an incredible amount of possibilities. The things this can do are hard to type in a few sentences, but your techie will definitely understand. Just go check out their website and you'll get an idea by watching their video. After watching the video on their site you'll probably end up wanting one too.

That's all for the Techie. Please let me know whether you found something perfect for your person or if you are still searching. I'd love to help you find a great gift because I know sometimes the struggle is too real. Gift giving is something I enjoy and I would be happy to help. Thanks for reading.
